In the last week, I have had too many beekeepers tell me they have never heard of Fat Bees. This is an extremely valuable article by Randy Oliver on the subject. It's a bit technical, and I had to read it more than once to even start to understand all that is behind the science of it all. But, trust me, you need to know what's going on with the honey bees that are born this time of year vs. the honey bees you have been dealing with for the last six months. Understanding them will help you keep them healthier, and you will be a better beekeeper for having learned these principles.
